About the Artist (resume, if you prefer)
Since 1980, I have been creating artwork, photography, writing, scribbling , designing and making costumes. During this time, I also completed my B App Sc in Queensland. I moved to Adelaide in 1988 where I met my husband and live with my family. I have worked as an optometrist over the past 25 years, and specialised with working with children for over 10 years. I also enjoy and now promote my passion to create. I grew up with traditional art and am slowly engaging in the digital age.
  • I have been drawing for over 30 years, mostly in pencils, pen and inks as well as calligraphy and illumination in Renaissance style and flurtation with comics in the mid-1990s. Some of this art is available for sale.
  • took up photography in high school - 1980 - where I contributed to the school newsletter for three years while learning the art of photography and dark room techniques.  Most of my work is with natural or simple lighting and most of my work is 'as they come'. I rarely use digital enhancements and prefer candid style photography.
  • I have been writing on and off since the 1980s, with articles published in gaming/role-palying magazines, medieval/renaissance re-enactment magazines and costume magazines. I have written one book, in my idealistic youth, which will never see the light of day. I continue to scribble, writing short stories, articles, poetry, working on children's books and one day hope to finish 'that book'...  
  • I have been designing and making historical, fantasy and reproduction (SF/movie) costumes since 1982, being mostly self taught.
  • I have a current police check, for working with children in SA and a 'working with children' certificate in NT, and have done a course for volunteers at our local school.
  • specialised in working with children (vision and learning) for over 10 years.
