Purple Files: Green

Dafydd needed some new garb...

This was made from green cotton velveteen in an Elizabethan style. The back collar is cut as part of the back doublet. Details are hand - couched in gold metallic thread. It is lined with golden cotton drill (I could not afford linen at the time). Buttons - gold metallic.
The sleeves are shaped and couched. They tie into the armscythe.
Matching green cotton velvet venetians were made to match.
The under chemise is blackworked cotton voile. Black work is based on a neckband seen on a Holbein portrait of Thomas Godsalve and His Son John, 1528. (below )

A matching short Elizabethan cloak was made.
